What made you decide to start ThriveKids, Inc.?
My son had been diagnosed with ADHD and there is a great demand for engaging programs that include intense exercise and learning for kids with allot of energy. We fixed a problem and met the demand!
As a mom, how do you prioritize your day?
I have to be extremely diligent about my weekly/daily task list and keep going back to it to make sure most of the list is accomplished. Of course kids come first and as all moms do, we must drop everything when our babies are in need!
Who are your biggest influences?
I have always been impressed by athletes. I feel that they must exert the most discipline and rigour in their athletic lives. In particular, Michael Phelps and, before him, Mark Spitz, are swimmers and multiple Olympic gold winners. I was an athlete and I teach my son and all the kids in my program that you must set goals and objectives and then plan your day accordingly. It is important to chunk away at your tasks a little at a time to reach your ultimate goals. Always strive for the best!
What advice would you give moms who work from home?
Only the placement of your desk changes. Nothing else should. You must use the same level of organization and discipline when accomplishing your goals from home. And don’t keep going to the fridge – lol!
What advice would you give moms who are working to start or build their business?
Sourround yourself with people smarter, more driven and more accomplished than yourself. Leverage their know how and make them your mentors! Then listen and digest and then implement your learnings.
What one word would you choose to describe yourself?
Is there anything else you want to share with the Mom Empire?
What an exciting enterprise. Women are strong and wonderful. We must not push each other down or out of the way. We must lift each other up and support one another. We are much more powerful together!
